The Equine Balance Bridle is sculpted to follow the facial contours and avoid sensitive nerves, helping to increase comfort, reduce rubbing and alleviate unnecessary pressure.

  •  The head piece has been widened to increase the surface area and help to dissipate pressure at the poll

  • Nuchal ligament relief if provided by a cut away mid section which reduces pressure at the poll in the area of the horse's mane, helping horse to relax.

  • The brow band is cut to mirror the facial contours and is softly padded to provide

a comfortable fit. It features click fastening mechanism - meaning that changed quickly with out removing the bridle and is better tolerated by horses with sensitive ears.

  • The Nose band is is shaped to avoid rubbing around the facial crest, softly arching around the nasal ridge to reduce irritation on nerves and bony prominences. It is available in 3 different options - plain cavesson, detachable flash or training style.

  • The cheekpieces attach to the bridle in a higher position than is found on traditional anatomical bridles. This has 2 advantages: It facilitates a wider selection of biting options, allowing for different length ring and cheek heights, and it allows the horse to relieve pressure on the bars of the mouth when he relaxes at the poll without encouraging overbending.

PLAIN ANATOMICAL CAVESSON:

For Pressure Sensitive Horses and Ponies

logo orange and white.png
  • Simple, soft and unobtrusive design

  • The anatomically shaped cavesson avoids pressure on sensitive facial nerves and eliminates rubbing of the bony prominences

  • Relieving pressure around the nasal area can help to alleviate symptoms such as head shaking/ tossing and other problems triggered by traditional noseband design

  • The back strap of the cavesson is positioned behind the horses premolar teeth - ensuring a more comfortable fit for younger horses with sensitivity from erupting permanent teeth and horses with dental issues.

For Competition and Daily Use

  • Anatomical style bridles are widely accepted across a variety of equestrian disciplines due to the enhanced comfort that they provide to the horse and the improved communication they offer between horse and rider.

  • The cavesson bridle provides a practical solution for everyday work and easily transforms into an elegant competition bridle.

  • Change the brow band and cheekpieces in seconds to alter the bridle style or meet competition requirements.

  • The bridle cheek pieces can be either clipped or buckled directly to the bridle. Clip hooks make bit changes between disciplines simple and easy, while buckle fastenings are used in traditional dressage classes.

  • Please note that the rule books for each sport are continually changing and it is advisable to check tack requirements with the respective rule book.

PERFORMANCE - COMBINATION NOSEBAND:

For Horses that Prefer Different  Noseband or Bit Combinations

  • Similar in design to the plain cavesson but features 2 strategically placed rings to which the detachable flash strap and bar protection straps may be fixed

  • The rings are positioned unobtrusively to the side of the nostrils, enabling un-restricted air flow along the nasal passage when the bridle is used with the optional flash strap

  • Attaching the bar protection straps to the rings enables pressure to be transferred from the bit and bars of the mouth onto the nosepiece where it is better tolerated by some horses

bit straps.jpg

For  Young or Novice Horses or Riders

  • Affixing the optional straps to the noseband can provide stability to the bit, helping it to achieve a more settled position in the mouth  - which can be helpful for horses that are easily disturbed when the contact is not consistent

  • Transferring pressure from the bars of the mouth to the nose can increase confidence in certain situations. It can improve performance where backwards pressure from the bit is an inhibiting factor. This is a common problem encountered with novice horses and riders where the rein contact can be inconsistent. It is also common during long reining and jumping

  • Use of the bar protection straps eases pressure on the narrow bars of the mouth and transfers it to the padded nose piece, which can encourage the horse to remain settled, forward and more content during training

TRAINING NOSEBAND:

For Lunging, Long Reining and Ground Work

  • The training noseband has all the features of the plain cavesson and combination styles with an additional 2 rings centrally positioned at the front and rear of the noseband

  • The front ring can be used to apply forward guiding pressure whilst leading and lunging

  • Lunging from this ring generally results in less rotation at the poll when compared to lunging off the bit or head collar, so the horse finds it easier to bend correctly around the circle

  • The rear ring can be used to apply backward restraining pressure on the nose - similar in action to a head collar. This form of pressure is easily understood by many horses who are used to leading and tying up in a headcollar

  • The ability to choose how, where and in which direction to apply and release pressure makes the training bridle a useful communication tool for starting, training and re-training different horses.

Correct Bridle Fit and Use Can Positively Effect Performance

Well fitting tack that helps the horse to understand the riders aids and enhances rather than inhibits the horse's natural motion can enable the horse to perform functionally and remain sound throughout his ridden career.

Comfort, communication and the ability to move naturally all contribute to the horse's happiness, health and performance output

It is important to not only understand the direct impact of pressure on the different areas of the horse's anatomy but also to recognise how equipment design enables the horse to develop good posture and facilitate optimal biomechanical use of the body during exercise.
